Installation

Installation Instructions

The SFAA is to be installed between two manufactured trusses 24" on the center at about mid point on the highest roof ridge line. The trusses are required to have a center post. If using a Fink or Scissor truss that does not have a center post a simple conversion is possible, on site, that will actually increase the strength of the entire system. Complete installation instructions are included with every unit.

Normally one unit would be adequate for most residential homes. However in some cases additional SFAA units may be required, such as when there are multiple roof lines.

Remove the ridge block between the two trusses where you wish to install the unit. Slide the unit down from the top. The ridge box on the unit should be allowed to rise above the peak of the truss to allow room for adequate flashing to be installed once the roof is complete, (flashing kit included).

Recommendations

A separate lifeline, rope grab, 3' shock absorbing lanyard and safety harness, that meet the CSA Standards, will be required for each worker on the roof. The rope grab should be positioned on the life line to provide minimum slack in the lanyard.
